Perched atop a repurposed 1933 postal facility, Morgan North’s two-acre rooftop park reimagines commercial office amenities through the lens of landscape performance and human well-being. Designed by HMWhite with Shimoda Design Group, this elevated parkland weaves together woodlands, shrublands, wildflower meadows, and lawns—reflecting the Hudson Valley’s ecological richness.
The rooftop is divided into a network of work and leisure zones, including quiet garden pods, a fitness deck, a sunset terrace, and event-ready lawns. Microclimate-responsive design features—like coniferous windbreaks and vine-covered pergolas—mitigate sun and wind exposure while enhancing year-round comfort.
Morgan North sets a new precedent for adaptive reuse, merging nature and workplace culture into a seamless, restorative experience. Through a carefully layered, regionally inspired planting design and flexible programming, the rooftop landscape operates as a daily urban escape and a catalyst for tenant connection, creativity, and productivity.
