Socorro Alatorre

June 2010

HM White is thrilled to announce the addition of Socorro Alatorre as an associate to the firm. Socorro Alatorre brings more than fifteen years of public space and institutional landscape design experience. Her career began as an architect in Mexico where she designed several private residences developing an interest in the physical and visual connections between building and site. She has consistently pursued the interaction between the built environment and opportunities in humanizing it through the fusion with natural systems. As senior landscape architect for HM White, she is responsible for a 36 acre landscape design development for a new training facility of the NYC Police Academy. Her LEED® AP accreditation has been instrumental in reconciling the site’s environmentally disturbed conditions. As both an architect and licensed landscape architect, Ms. Alatorre is known to be an invaluable resource in enabling necessary interfaces between the building and natural landscape systems.
