AARON BOOHER
Associate Principal

Aaron Booher brings more than nine years of international design experience to HM White Site Architects, where he continues to explore his commitment to environmental design as a dynamic medium that enriches peoples’ lives. Although a New York City resident for 15 years, he originates from the Pacific Northwest’s Columbia River Gorge – the landscape in which he developed a formative commitment to and respect for Nature. Through his professional work, he pursues reconnecting the public with its living world and understanding the power of “place,” while creating innovative and sustainable design solutions that harmonize with the ecology of the natural landscape.

Aaron’s broad international experience and background in the creative arts enrich his comprehensive knowledge of site planning, horticulture, ecological systems, construction methods, and visual communications. He excels in balancing clients’ priorities and constraints with analysis-driven design concepts. With each HM White project over the past three years, he has led multi-disciplinary collaborations where he is responsible for effectively assessing opportunity, distilling constraints, and synthesizing his analysis into thoughtful and compelling creative solutions.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Penn Design at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been honored with student awards as well as an Honorable Mention from the Art Director’s Club. While at HM White, he has been responsible for leading and managing the comprehensive landscape design for the new Brooklyn Botanic Garden Visitor’s Center and Garden entrance, the New York Times Building courtyard and rooftop garden, Barnard College Nexus building campus landscape and green roof, a plaza and streetscape network expansion of Brooklyn’s Metrotech business and academic district and is currently developing designs for a multi-agency streetscape masterplan adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge. He has served as a guest juror at Penn Design.
